Cox left Vpress two months ago. He started his new role as business development director at Cloudprinter on Monday (17 May).
Cloudprinter is headquartered in the Netherlands. It began life in 2016 and launched the first version of its platform the following year.
The firm aims to “revolutionise global printing” by connecting print buyers and printers to enable local printing anywhere in the world.
It currently has more than 170 connected printers worldwide.
Cox said Cloudprinter’s global offering was “an exciting opportunity”.
“I’ve known and watched Cloudprinter with interest since they kicked off. The CEO, Martijn Eier, got in touch with me a while ago and everything's progressed very naturally from that point,” he explained.
Cloudprinter offers a range of options for different target markets including photo companies, governments, brands, publishing and web-to-print.
Print Cloud product is targeted at marketers and buyers. Print API is a print and ship API for global sourcing and routing of jobs, while CloudPublish targets print-on-demand publishing and printing.
Cloudprinter is also integrated with popular ecommerce apps such as Shopify, Woocommerce and Magento, along with a host of other platforms including Salesforce, Adobe’s Creative Cloud, Office 365 and Dropbox.
It is tightly integrated with Enfocus Switch, which provides a “full integration” with the Cloudprinter API, and is also connected to HP’s Site Flow platform.
Cox worked at Vpress for almost a decade. Prior to that he was channel manager at RES Group, and then went on to set up ROI Software.
