Former ROI managing director Cox joined Vpress last July in a business development capacity and said he has experienced his busiest six months in web-to-print since moving into the sector more than 10 years ago.
He said: "It seems as if the market is slowly waking up to the opportunities afforded to it by a quality web-to-print system.
"An increasing number of print companies are realising that they can progress and grow by investing in web-to-print, so it's up to us to demonstrate the benefits it can bring their business."
In addition to growing its alliances and partnerships with other manufacturers and suppliers, Vpress is aiming to expand into new markets such as point-of-sale and direct mail.
"With a rapidly growing customer base of more than 1,100 companies using Coreprint, our potential for continued growth is immense," he said.
Commenting on the appointment, Vpress e-commerce director Kelvin Bell said Cox brings "a wealth of experience and inspirational ideas" to the company.
Bell added: "He strengthens an already successfully management team with an array of proven products. He is well-known within not just the print industry, but more specifically the W2P sector, for being someone who can deliver and succeed."
