MSA Engineering Systems’ HSB (horizontal slant bed) collator has a space-saving design aimed at SMEs with limited
floor space.
The horizontal slant of the trays makes the machine’s footprint smaller than other horizontal machines. Each station is on a slant, and paper is fed upwards onto a conveyor above the stations.
The machine can handle A2-A3 sheets (up to 650x450mm) of 35-80gsm at speeds up to 3,600 sets per hour, and offers a 60mm stack height. Adjustable backstops are fitted as standard to process smaller sheets.
Optional modules include a cross knife fold unit, an output conveyor and a jog table. The firm said machines could also be customised to include double-width trays, or to handle larger sheet sizes up to 1,120mm.
