Our previous platesetting system was letting us down and so, after seeing a demonstration of the Acento platesetter imaging Azura chemistry-free plates, the decision to update our equipment was an easy one. The plates have a clearly defined image, are press-ready as soon as they come off the gumming unit and require no special adjustments to the press. Also, the whole system is extremely low maintenance. The Acento is required to produce approximately 1,000 Azura plates each month for the company’s five Heidelberg presses, ncluding a five-colour B2 Speedmaster. The system was installed three months ago and has so far been completely reliable.
