McGuiness started in the role of marketing manager UKI on Monday (6 January). The role became available due to an internal promotion and the steady expansion of the company’s marketing team.
“It was a great start to the year and everyone has been extremely helpful in getting me up and running,” said McGuiness, who has held technical, sales, and marketing roles with major industry names including DuPont, Scitex, Creo, Kodak, and PrintIQ.
He told Printweek: “I base all my marketing skills on those disciplines gained in each role, as understanding what each department and sector require is essential for both our customers and the sales team.
“I always describe myself as a hands-on marketeer as you need to understand the issues customers have and how to speak to them effectively.”
Speaking about his strategy in the new role, he added: “I plan to create valued conversations and narrative about the issues facing the different markets that gives our customers quality information for their business and show how our products can help meet those challenges.
“The packaging and labelling segments are facing new legislation all the time as sustainability and carbon footprint become so critical.”
Videojet will exhibit at shows in the UK during 2025 including PPMA and Foodex, plus several other smaller events due to be confirmed later in the year.
The business is owned by Veralto, which also owns Pantone, Esko, X-Rite and Linx.
