The BookReady system takes Tecnau’s know-how into a new area. The Italian manufacturer said it had built upon the success of its existing Stack 1010 cutting and stacking system.
BookReady operates on-the-fly, and converts SRA3 sheets – that could be printed two-up or four-up – into final size book blocks.
An optional 90-degree turning station can switch imposed sheets from long-edge to short-edge leading “so that printer speed is maximised and book of one is made possible”, Tecnau explained.

“The solution guarantees high efficiency while eliminating possible errors for customers who want to actively compete in the digital book sector for short runs and book on demand," said Tecnau managing director Stefano De Marco/
The separated book blocks are delivered to a belt conveyor ready for the next process, such as nearline perfect binding.
The first BookReady integration had been developed with Canon, with further sheetfed digital presses to follow.
Tecnau marketing manager Maurizio Gianetto told Printweek: “The BookReady solution is integrated with the Canon varioPrint 6000 Titan monochrome cutsheet digital production printer. we are now in the process to integrate it with other printers, especially inkjet production printers.”
He said the BookReady had already been extensively tested, and was now “ready for sales” and immediate shipment.
Pricing depends upon configuration.
