The new Omega line system has been installed on a HP Indigo 10000, and Technotrans reported that it is currently working with several other OEMs in developing digital-ready chilling units.
Technotrans UK managing director Peter Benton said it reflected a growing need among digital printers for specialised cooling equipment.
"The digital printing industry is faced with increasing machine speeds and, with that, a corresponding increase in demand for cooling," he said.
"Technotrans is well positioned and equipped to meet the demand for temperature control units that are necessary for the current press models and to develop future solutions. It’s our core strength."
Precision Printing production director Andy Skarpellis said that Technotrans secured an agreement with the firm over several other suppliers due to the company’s established reputation in the field.
"Without a robust and reliable chiller the digital press will not work so it is critical," he said. "We use Technotrans equipment on our B2 Speedmaster presses and this swayed our decision. The beta test has run since October and we hardly know it’s there – and that means it’s doing its job."
Units for digital presses will be available in the coming months, said Technotrans, who reported several further orders for the units but declined to divulge specific company names.
