The 4x4 models of the Nyala 2 (3.2x2m flatbed) and Impala 2 (2.5x2m flatbed) series are said to retain the same quality as the existing 2xCMYK models, but are around twice as fast.
The UV machines, which are said to be suitable for screen printers as well as booth builders and large-scale digital print firms, can be used to produce high-quality POS items, displays, posters and banners.
The Nyala 2 4x4 model prints at up to 101sqm/hr in quality mode, which the manufacturer said results in “brilliant” colours as well as rendering of fine detail. Fine art mode enables applications such as backlit graphics to be printed at up to 57sqm/hr while the device can print at up to 206sqm/hr in production mode.
The Impala 2 4x4 model prints at up to 180sqm/hr in production mode, 89sqm/hr in quality mode and 51sqm/hr in fine art mode.
“These machines offer more speed but with exactly the same quality as if you were using the 2xCMYK models,” said SwissQprint marketing services specialist Petra Fetting.
“They’re suitable for companies that have a high output, such as large digital printers that need to produce a lot of material with high quality. Stand construction is an interesting field, for example, because those businesses tend to be short of time and have to produce quickly.”
The colour configuration of the two machines can be supplemented with either an optional white channel, to offer possibilities such as printing of background or multilayer white, or an optional varnish channel for creating visual and tactile effects.
Both printers can be equipped with a roll-to-roll option or a board option capable of handling media up to four metres long. Tandem functionality, where media is loaded from either side of the table for non-stop production, comes as standard.
The machines are also compatible with SwissQprint’s Drupa-launched automated robot system, Rob. This system facilitates unmanned shifts and helps with longer runs by loading and unloading rigid media onto the printer.
The two new machines are available with immediate effect from SwissQPrint’s UK distributor Spandex. The list price for the base model Impala 2 4x4, excluding optional extras, is £273,585 while the Nyala 2 4x4 base model list price is £311,085.
