The UK developer has embedded Imp technology from Indian software company Insoft Automation into its system.
“It will put different shapes and sizes of job together to optimise sheet layouts,” explained business development manager Andrew Strand. “We can now do automatically within the MIS what is normally a very labour-intensive pre-press process.”
Tharstern expects the module to be appealing to web-to-print specialists and packaging printers.
The firm is also previewing an expanded applications programming interface option for users of its system. “It’s particularly interesting for printers who want to create client-specific storefronts with bespoke quotes,” said Strand.
