The French composite material manufacturer launched Decolit Master Grey 251 to the market as Fespa. The 325gsm polyester substrate, which features a PVC coating, was developed to offer a high-impact alternative to the Master Black 251.

Its zero-curling capabilities tailor the substrate to internal displays and roll-up banner jobs. It is certified for HP Latex inks, as well as bring compatible with all eco-solvent, UV-curable and latex inks. It is also recyclable.

“We were mainly receiving a demand from the German market,” said product manager Anouk Cheyvialle. “Its grey retains the opacity of black but with reduced contrast and makes it well suited to aesthetic signage work.”

The manufacturer's products all, at their core, comprise a polyester base with PVC coating. They are then processed differently to tailor them to various purposes.

Fespa is also serving as the venue for Serge Ferrari’s bid to move its Soltis product family into the furniture and interior decoration market. Designed for solar protection in an industrial capacity, Cheyvialle has been testing the substrate’s printability since February.

A space on the company’s stand, 3.2-A10, demonstrates the material utilised on printed cushion and sofa coverings, window blinds and wall coverings. Both the 290gsm Master 99 and 420gsm Perform 92 variants of the substrate were used, with patterns printed by Mimaki devices.

Cheyvialle said: “Because our materials are very technical, we believe that printers will feel that they are not taking a risk by using them. We are confident that we can be a part of this world of print and décor with our customisable, unique products.”
