Kyocera announced the 150 A4 images per minute TaskAlfa Pro 55000c earlier this month. Screen announced this week that it will sell it as the Truepress Jet S320, integrated with its Equios workflow system.
Both presses were on show in Atlanta, with Kyocera allowing visitors to take away printed samples – showing the promised commercial quality colour output on coated paper.
Kyocera and Screen are neighbouring corporates in Japan.
Both devices use Screen’s proprietary Truepress SC/SC+ ink, which allows printing onto coated papers without the need for coating or priming.
Regarding the UK market, Rod Tonna-Barthet, president and CEO of Kyocera Document Solutions UK and Ireland, told Printweek he expected installations from April 2024.
“We have a device we are installing into our German company later in October so if customers wish to see it, we will be able to take them to visit.”
Pricing has not yet been disclosed, but he said it would be highly competitive.
