The Japanese manufacturer first revealed its plans to expand its inkjet range at the Igas show in Tokyo last year.
The new model – the TaskAlfa Pro 55000c – is targeted squarely at the commercial print applications including books, brochures and direct mail, with Kyocera describing the SRA3-plus device as providing “quality to rival offset printing”.
It can print onto standard coated paper stocks, and uses Kyocera’s 1,200dpi printheads and edge smoothing technology.
“In addition, the reliability, durability, and the low acquisition and running costs of the TaskAlfa Pro 55000c are set to exceed the expectations of customers in the printing industry,” Kyocera stated.
Pricing and availability for the UK market were under wraps at the time of writing.
Paul Stead, commercial and industrial print area sales manager at reseller and managed services specialist ASL Group, said he was excited about the potential for the new device.
“I can’t wait to get going with it, I think it’s going to set people alight,” he said.
“The samples I’ve seen are absolutely stunning.”
Kyocera’s existing TASKalfa Pro 15000c model is targeted at transactional and transpromo work.
Printing United Expo takes place in Atlanta from 18-20 October.
