The certification was granted after the inks were tested for quality and durability by printing transfer graphics onto US-based ChromaLuxe’s EXT UV-resistant photo panels. ChromaLuxe also extended the certification to include a two-year warranty for the inks on photography-based output, and a three-year warranty on signage.

Texart SBL3 inks are available in standard CMYK, as well as eight-colour configuration which adds light cyan, light magenta, orange and violet. They are designed to work with Roland’s Texart family of dye-sublimation printers: the RT-640, the October-launched RT-640M and XT-640.

“Roland DG is constantly innovating and developing on many levels; such as inks, hardware, software and applications. This was the first time Roland SBL3 inks were tested and certified for this application by ChromaLuxe.”

SBL3 inks are designed for applications related to fashion, interior decoration and signage using transfer sublimation onto textile and direct-to-textile techniques, as well as transfer sublimation onto rigid materials.

The water-based, fast-drying inks contain a high concentration of dyes with the intent of reducing ink usage while retaining vibrancy.
