The new VersaUV LEF-20 half-day boot camps, on 10 January 2014 from 3pm to 6pm and 30 January from 6pm to 9pm, have been arranged in response to demand following the company’s first boot camp, held in November this year.
“It was clear from the session in November that our new VersaUV LEF-20 desktop flatbed UV printer has really captured the imagination of the industry and there is already a great deal of buzz around it in the marketplace,” said Roland DG academy and creative centre manager Joe Wigzell.
The £19,999 VersaUV LEF-20 flatbed UV printer, launched in September, offers a larger print area (508x330mm) than its predecessor the LEF-12 (305x280mm), with the same maximum resolution (1,440x720dpi), while both devices can print onto objects up to 100mm thick.
"Those attending the first LEF-20 camp represented a range of companies from right across the spectrum and all were very impressed with the machine, its quality, performance, speed, bed size and sheer versatility,” said Wigzell.
The boot camps, he explained, were aimed at pad and screen printers, sign shops and even gift or novelty shops looking to expand their offer to produce high-value, high-profit promotional items, novelty goods, signage, high-end graphics, POS, awards and packaging prototypes.
“They have been developed to help both potential and existing Roland users to explore the technology and understand how it can best work for them in a supportive and friendly environment,” he added.
