The Duplo DSC-10/20 collator features 10 bins, while two towers can be connected to create a 20-bin system.
According to Prontaprint Gloucester general manager Craig Wilson, the system is "rich with automatic features", and also cost-effective.
He said: "Had this system not existed, we would have been forced to buy secondhand. It fills a space in the market, offering a good range of features and productivity at the right price. It has been a great addition to our business."
Wilson added that it had reduced set-up time and put the system on target to produce 250,000 booklets in the first year.
The company's plant list includes three Heidelberg two-colour machines and two Konica Minolta machines - a colour digital press and a dedicated black-and-white production unit.
According to Wilson, this was another reason Prontaprint invested in the Duplo machine. He said: "Our digital-litho split is about 50-50 so we needed a system that would be comfortable handling both outputs."
The business was started over 30 years ago and moved to its current industrial location just outside central Gloucester eight years ago. It focuses entirely on the B2B market and includes Gloucestershire NHS among its list of high-profile customers.
