Proco Europe now sheeting tearproof grades

Specialist paper merchant Proco Papers Europe has added sheeting of DuPont Tyvek to its range of services.

The Llantrisant, South Wales company became independent in March when it was acquired from former US parent Proco Inc, which makes heat-seal substrates.

The five-strong firm specialises in bespoke sizes and quick turnaround times on its range of niche substrates.

“We are offering a five-to-ten working days service on any sheet size, from A4 up to B1. Quantities could be as little as a box of A4,” explained operations manager Glen Perry. “We are sheeting from 1,200mm rolls so we can get multiples across. People can have completely bespoke sizes if they need it.”

As well as DuPont’s tearproof Tyvek grade, Proco also supplies its own Protuf synthetic paper, which is made for the company by Avery Dennison.

“It’s a plasticised, non-tear, waterproof sheet without fibres. It’s ideal for things like race numbers, waterproof maps and swing tags,” Perry explained.

The firm continues to supply the Proco range of heat-activated label papers, which are 250mic thick and typically used in bedding and furniture applications, such as labels for mattresses and carpets.

Proco Papers is also looking to expand its range with additional specialist substrates.
