The 930sqm Northern Way Industrial Estate office opened on 10 September to expand Premier Paper’s regional presence.
The branch holds 600 tonnes of stock, enabling the team to provide same day delivery services with its fleet of seven lorries. It also has access to 20,000 tonnes of papers throughout the Premier Paper network.
The East Anglian team is headed by branch manager Chris Stanyon, who moved from the same post at Premier Paper’s Northampton office.
Account manager Dave Pearson, who moved over from Premier Paper's Langley office in Berkshire, joins Stanyon along with Jon Cooper, who has been recruited from Vision Paper as an outside salesperson.
The final three members of the team, sales representatives Susanne Stones and Duncan Southgate and sales office manager Damon Sharp, are former employees of Masons Paper's Ipswich branch.
Premier Paper group marketing director David Jones said: "Opening the East Anglia branch completes our national presence, we offer local service across the UK now.
"East Anglia was an area where we identified that we needed to build up our strength of service and we do that through a nationwide branch network. We get local people, get local stock and provide a local service."
He added that the size of the team would adapt as the business grows, citing the expansion of the Southampton branch which took on more staff, more vans and larger warehouses as the demand increased.The East Anglia branch is the latest in a number of new offices for Premier Paper. In January 2012, it opened a North East office in Washington, Tyne and Wear.
Last autumn, Premier Paper opened a new site in Newton Abbot, Devon, to expand its South West operations after acquiring Dorset-based merchant Arc Paper in August 2011.
