Director of product marketing Bryan Manwaring said Onyx 12 was now entirely 64-bit. “What that means is that ripping times are dramatically faster, twice as fast. Starting up apps and moving files around is also quicker.”
Other new features include colour managed previews and thumbnails in the main interface. Cutting paths are also previewed.
The firm is also showing new connectivity with Enfocus Switch.
“We’re really excited about it, it’s helping customers tie the two parts of their business together,” Manwaring explained.
He said that as well as speed, one of the key benefits was removing potential errors caused by re-keying information.
“Rather than spending 10 or 15 minutes setting a job up, with the Switch configuration we can just do that for them. It helps automate the workflow, which gives customers the opportunity to take on more jobs, and it also removes mistakes.”
Manwaring also highlighted Onyx’s tools to automate wide-format products such as signage, banners and pop-up displays.
“We can add things like bleed and grommet marks in one or two clicks,” he added.
Also new is Onyx Quick Sets, for creating job sets that can simply be used again for repeat jobs of the same type.
The firm has also developed Onyx Textile Edition with features specifically for the large-format textile market.
