The Pro6410 NeonColor and introduction of white toner technology to its Pro Series range of graphic arts printers launched last week allow printing of the eye-catching designs on transfer media.
According to its maker the Pro6410 NeonColor “liberates” graphic designs from the limits of the standard CMYK colour spectrum. The new machine will be on show at Drupa.
Users can create fluorescent effects on light or dark backgrounds, with the added option of using the white toner as a security mark, revealed only when checked under UV black light.
Its vibrant spectrum aims to offer new revenue-streams in garment and product decoration, personalisation, packaging and proofing, POS and in-store signage and education.
UK marketing manager Andrew Hall said: “The Pro6410 NeonColor was shown at the Printwear and Promotion Exhibition in February but it was officially launched on 5 April.
“Target audiences are commercial printers, designers, copyshops, technology and promotional printers. The stand-out feature of the Pro6410 is its ability to print neon.”
OKI Europe was the first manufacturer to introduce a range of digital LED A4 and A3 white toner printers, with the launch of the C711WT and C920WT, four years ago.
A year later C711WT and its product applications won the best in new technology category and best in image transfer product awards at Euro Trophex in Amsterdam.
OKI Europe has also introduced its white toner technology to its Pro Series graphic arts printers with the launch, also last week, of the Pro7411WT and Pro9420WT printers.
The company said that these systems combine high-definition digital LED printing with white toner technology to offer a level of performance that has normally only been achievable with expensive equipment.
The recommended retail price of the RP Pro6410 is £1,779, the Pro7411WT is £2,899 and the Pro9420WT printer costs around £4,549.
The Pro6410 NeonColor and Pro7411WT run A4 weights up to 250gsm and banner lengths up to 1,320mm. Both have a colour speed of 8ppm, plain paper speed of 34ppm, and 1,200x600dpi resolution.
The Pro9420WT expands the possibilities up to SRA3, runs weights up to 300gsm and banner lengths up to 1,320mm.
It has a colour speed of 10ppm in transparency mode and 31ppm for plain paper, and a resolution of 1,200x600dpi.
The Pro Series printers are primarily targeted at sectors producing creative designs as well as those with a volume print requirement including print houses, advertising, design and other creative agencies.
Each printer in the range is designed to help save money, with high-capacity consumables reducing user intervention and contributing to lower running costs.
