The two new models are the 2.6m-wide ValueJet 2638 and the 1.6m-wide ValueJet 1628W, which is primarily aimed at the textile printing market using dye-sublimation inks.
"The ValueJet 2638 is a fast, wide production printer, it’s not only fast but it also offers high resolution and quality too," said Colourgen marketing manager Melanie Enser. "It’s the first new machine Mutoh has had that is this wide and aimed at the production oriented part of the market in a long time."
Productivity ranges from 17sqm per hour at the highest 1,440x720dpi resolution to 48.3sqm per hour in the 360x720dpi billboard mode. Primarily offered with Mutoh’s Eco Ultra Inks it can also be supplied with water-based inks, either standard aqueous inks for internal graphics or dye-sublimation inks for textile printing.
The ValueJet 1638W is a water-based machine, which Colourgen expects will primarily appeal to firms wanting a dye-sub machine for textile production, but can also use aqueous inks for internal graphics.
Enser said that the two new ValueJet models highlighted Colourgen’s Building Blocks for Business Campaign, which is based on the common platform offered by the Mutoh product range.
"If you buy a Mutoh the same core technology, inks, printheads and user interface are used for every machine from the entry-level to production," said Enser. "Customers can dip their toe in the water with a basic machine and when ready easily grow with a more capable and productive one."
She added that the ValueJet machines had proven a popular choice for start up firms and those moving up from water-based technology to solvent production.
In addition to the new ValueJets Colourgen will be showing Seiko ColorPainter H2-74S and ColorPainter W-Series printers, Epson’s SureColor SC-T7000 printer for CAD and GIS, Kala and Seal laminators and EFI and Caldera RIPs.
