The firm is taking three brand new devices to the show, including the ValueJet 426UF, a desktop A3-plus format LED UV printer for printing onto three-dimensional objects up to 70mm thick.
Mutoh’s newly developed LED UV technology is also used in the ValueJet 1626UH, a hybrid device capable of printing onto rigid media or roll-to-roll substrates up to 165cm wide.
Both devices use the firm’s new VOC-free inks, and the LED UV technology opens up the potential for printing onto a wider range of heat-sensitive media.
Arthur Vanhoutte, managing director at Mutoh Belgium, said the new range should appeal to screen and pad printers looking to add digital capabilities, as well as to the firm’s existing customers. “We are very excited to present our extended product portfolio at Fespa Digital,” he said.
The firm is also entering a new area of the market with the 610mm wide ValueJet 628 roll-to-roll printer, which is targeted at a variety of applications including signage and print-to-cut work for indoor and outdoor use. It uses micro-piezo inkjet heads.
“This is the first time Mutoh has shown a 24 inch sign and display printer,” explained marketing specialist Dirk Devroye. “It is due to customer requests for this type of kit,”
Prices for the new models have not yet been set, but will be “competitive” the firm said.
The three new printers will be previewed at Fespa Digital ahead of commercial availability in the summer.
Also being shown on the firm’s booth will be the recently launched ValueJet X models billed as providing high-speed, high quality output, along with a 2.6m wide ValueJet 2638 dye sublimation printer for soft signage and other applications, and ValueCut cutting plotter.
Mutoh is on stand B1-550 at the show, which takes place from 20-23 May in Munich.
