The compact entry-level Optima V50 features a 550x800mm vacuum bed and comes with a tangential cutting head, a creasing tool, camera system and a range of nine creasing and perforating wheels as standard.

It can also be configured with an optional oscillating cutting tool, for cutting thicker substrates up to 20mm. According to Morgana, part of the Plockmatic Group’s Offline Business Unit, the cutting heads can be changed in as little as 10 seconds.

“The Optima V50 addresses the entry-level sector, where a small but highly versatile device is an essential ingredient. It’s an ideal starting point for those seeing the need for a cutting table,” said Ray Hillhouse, VP sales & marketing for the Plockmatic Group Offline Business Unit.

The flagship Omnia digital cutting table is targeted at larger volume users.

It has a slightly larger cutting area, 600x800mm but is highly automated and comes with an automatic feeder that can handle up to 500 300gsm sheets. It can automatically set cutting patterns from a QR code and can handle products up to 10mm thick. Speed varies according to the complexity of the cutting pattern, but 30-45 seconds for a “medium complexity” A3 sheet.

“The Omnia breaks new ground in automating cutting table processes. For those businesses with a growing demand for repetitive tasks,” said Hillhouse.

“It can produce a great many tasks without the need for an operator to stand over the machine, including “lights out” production of work overnight.”

Both machines are built by Italian cutting equipment manufacturer Valiani, which has installed more than 4,500 installations worldwide.

UK prices for the Optima V50 start at around £18,000 while the highly spec'd Omnia, dependent on configuration, is available from £45,000 upwards.

Morgana prices include delivery, installation and 12 months parts and labour warranty.
