The printer was launched at the end of January, and is designed for industrial applications. It uses a Mimaki YG-500 print engine with Ricoh Gen5 printheads, and works with aqueous pigment or sublimation inks.
Print width is 2.05m or 3.25m, and the printer’s drying system includes four blowing bars
“The concept is fully-integrated with a heavy-duty rewinding system, and is designed to print 24/7,” said Mautom Systemes chief executive Pascal Allender. “We are back at Fespa especially to show this.”
Allender said target applications included flags, non-wovens such as banners for sporting events, stand graphics, and cotton table textiles. It can also print wallpaper. Print speed is 100m2/hr.
The rewinder can handle rolls up to 600mm in diameter, and up to 1,000kg in weight depending on the printer version.
Price is €100,000 for the 2m Khalam Neon model, and €160,000 for the wider 3.25m version.
The Natvision control system allows users to monitor the machine remotely from a smartphone.
Mautom has specialised in the textile sector for more than 30 years.
