The device, which offers red and green as well as the traditional CMYK palette and an optional white ink channel, is targeted particularly at the fashion and sports industry.
Incorporating 20 Dimatix Spectra Polaris printheads with 256 nozzles each, the Avalanche Hexa has an overall print area of 60x90cm (23.5x35in).
It features Kornit’s NeoPigment process that can print directly to multiple fabric types and according to the company offers a 30% gamut increase over its competitors.
It is designed to simplify spot-colour handling and colour-matching that are particularly needed to reproduce corporate logos and branding on a range of fabrics.
Following beta testing with a number of fashion printers, such as Blur Impressao Digital Textil of Barcelos in Portugal, the Avalanche is now commercially available from Kornit’s reseller network throughout Europe.
“At Kornit we’re not surprised to learn that the benefits of the Avalanche Hexa appeal greatly to any print company needing colour accuracy for fashion and branding,” stated Wilfried Kampe, general manager of Kornit Digital Europe.
“Successful beta testing has shown that this direct-to-garment system offers the speed, quality and the best colours that the market needs, particularly when moving up to an advanced machine or making the transition from conventional screen-printing to the convenience and versatility of digital print.”
