The GBC CL-401 inline laminator, which is available immediately, offers new production and finishing versatility for a number of AccurioPress presses, according to Konica Minolta.
Built by GBC and available exclusively through Konica Minolta Business Solutions, it can be specified from new or retrofitted to the C4070, C4080, C7090, and C7100 AccurioPress models.
Konica Minolta said users of the CL-401 would be able to produce high-quality completed laminated documents in one easy step, with automatic detection of film types and sizes.
The manufacturer said the addition of an Inline Trimming Unit TU-510 would deliver full end-to-end inline production, replacing the labour and cost intensive process of finishing offline, for faster turnaround times.
Production is made faster still through the introduction of a cold lamination process that eliminates warm-up time, Konica Minolta said.
The CL-401 enables direct, two-side, application, as well as the option to laminate only one side of a graphic, making it suitable for producing decals and adhesive decorations.
It can handle paper weights from 75-300gsm and a wide range of different paper sizes from A4, A3, and SRA4 to SRA3, meaning it can be used for posters and menus, flyers, covers, and more.
Malcolm Smith, category manager, Professional Print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK), said: “The CL-401 is the first of its kind and only Konica Minolta can offer this combination of printing and laminating in one pass at just the touch of a button. Put simply, it is lamination at the speed of printing.”
