The AccurioPress C84hc has a bigger colour gamut than standard CMYK thanks to the high chroma toner, which Konica Minolta claims is unique.
The expanded colour gamut includes “vivid and clear” additional tones in pink, purple, magenta, green and blue.
It means images can be reproduced with a gamut close to standard RGB.
“This makes it especially well suited to the reproduction of specific colours, making it the perfect choice for global brands with exacting colour requirements,” Konica Minolta stated.
The 81ppm (A4) 1,200dpi device has an SRA3 format and marks the fifth generation of the high chroma range.
The C84hc uses a new toner and features ancillaries and inline post-press options that were first introduced with the AccurioPress C14000, including the TU-510 inline finishing unit that can produce a variety of products from full bleed output, straight off the press.
Malcolm Smith, category manager for Professional Print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions (UK) said the C84hc “sets a new benchmark for colour reproduction”.
“When used in conjunction with the AccurioShine 3600 embellishment press [it] offers the opportunity to create truly spectacular results.
“This provides print businesses with a huge point of differentiation from their competitors, helping them develop new revenue streams to reach new customers as well as develop further business with existing customers.”
KM is targeting a range of potential end users, including web-to-print, advertising agencies, photo books and photography specialists, and at design houses.
Auto Inspection Technology – a closed loop quality control and inspection system – is available as an optional extra.
The press will be on show at Drupa where KM is exhibiting in Hall 8b, stand A40-1/A40-6.
The new model is available immediately.
