The manufacturers said that the partnership would enable printers to manage production on multiple offset and digital machines via a single user interface.
The integration between the two systems is achieved by using job definition format (JDF) or job messaging format (JMF) to enable the two-way flow of data between Kodak Prinergy Workflow and Fiery Servers.
Users of the integrated workflow can direct output to the most suitable device for the job, schedule jobs more easily and access tracking and reporting information.
Kodak’s general manager of Unified Workflow Solutions Jon Bracken said: "This solution enables users to maximise their existing technology investments and cut costs from the manufacturing process."
The integrated solution was first demonstrated at last year’s EFI Connect annual users’ conference and is now commercially available after completion of a beta testing.
EFI vice president of Fiery marketing John Henze said the integration is "simple to deploy" and eliminates errors to ensure efficiency.
