The Indigo V12 is currently completing its beta phase and HP said the press is now available for early release.
“Traditionally, flexo had been the label industry’s default printing equipment, with digital focus on high value jobs,” said Noam Zilbershtain, VP and general manager at HP Indigo and Scitex.
“But with Indigo’s new press portfolio, and especially with the HP Indigo V12 digital press, converters can shift to an ‘Indigo first’ mindset, leading to optimal efficiency, sustainability, and ROI across a versatile portfolio of print jobs. Now it’s Indigo first, flexo second.”
To further increase productivity, ABG’s nonstop winding technology, which is specifically developed to run with the Indigo V12 and is also being demonstrated at HP’s booth, can be added.
The 200K digital press is now commercially available, after completing “an excellent beta phase”, according to HP.
The “mid-web solution for flexible packaging print” is said to drive on-demand delivery with no minimum orders and enables “spectacular variable designs” and minimal waste compared with conventional printing processes.
