The Jaz silk digitally coated paper, which is aimed at transpromo and transactional printing, aims to offer the look and feel of offset paper with high speed inkjet functionality.
Sappi said that the FSC-certified paper, which will be showcased at HP’s Drupa 2012 stand (Hall 4, stand D21) will enable printers to use less ink and will require no additional inline or offline paper treatment.
The manufacturers plan to add other papers to the Jaz range, including Jaz book and Jaz gloss, which they say will also require no bonding agent or other treatments, helping printers to save time and consume less ink compared to offset paper.
Jaz silk is available in weights of 90g, 115g, 130g and 150g, while Jaz book will be available in 65g for lower weight, full-colour coated books.
