According to Hollanders marketing manager Rowan Bloemberg the textile printer manufacturer had targeted five sales of the €99,500 (£80,000) CB250 to August, but had already received orders for eight.
As a result the Netherlands-based firm has increased production space by 35% and is reviewing staff levels.
The firm has sold machines into printers across mainland Europe, but is yet to secure its first UK sale, although Bloemberg said that it was in talks with several UK companies.
The 64sqm/hr ColorBooster CB250 was officially launched at Fespa Digital in May this year.
It can print on textiles from 0.5m to 2.5m in width, in four, six or eight colours, and has variable resolutions up to 1,080x720dpi. It’s compatible with a wide range of ink types, including dye-sub, reactive, acid and pigment.
It can produce durable output onto polyesters and mixes and its modular design means it can also be configured as a 'Carpet Edition' for the production of flooring materials.
Chief executive Jacco Aartsen Tuijn said that machine is targeted at both wide-format printers looking to extend their services into textile printing as well as a established players looking for a “sensibly priced” high-end solution.
“The timing is right for the ColorBooster CB250 as general awareness of the potential for digital textile printing is really beginning to impact on the sign-making and display segments,” he said.
“Typical customers are those who know that they want to produce greener applications and work with lightweight materials, but want to invest at a realistic pricing level.”
