The grade, which was initially launched in 2007, had been manufactured by Papierfabrik Scheufelen, but was moved to fellow German mill Feldmuehle Uetersen in early 2018 after Scheufelen filed for insolvency.
Feldmuehle was sold in June 2018 following its own insolvency procedure but filed for insolvency again in November and discontinued its production of graphic papers the following month, meaning Heaven 42 needed to be relocated again.
Igepa, which secured the brand and distribution rights to Heaven 42 in late 2017, said it “wanted to ensure the long-term availability and quality standards of the product and Sappi was able to meet these stringent requirements and ensure continuity of supply”.
Stocked in the UK by GF Smith since 2012, Heaven 42 absolute white is suitable for inkjet, litho and digital printing and common applications include brochures, catalogues, calendars, books, annual reports and gift cards.
The grade offers a 155 CIE whiteness level, which is said to enable vibrant colour reproduction combined with the haptic of a soft matt surface in a range of weights from 115gsm to 400gsm.
Sappi sales director Flavio Froehli said: “Sappi and Igepa have a long and successful partnership, we are looking forward to supporting the brand’s future success by utilising Sappi’s leading manufacturing and service platform.”
Brussels-headquartered Sappi’s other graphic paper brands include Magno, Quatro, Vantage, Royal, Galerie and GalerieArt. It also offers the Algro, Leine, Parade, Fusion and Atelier speciality papers and boards ranges.
