Launched at beginning of May, the revamped sheetfed device, based on the manufacturer's original CE6000-40 model, uses Graphtec’s i-Mark software to enable it to feed and cut up to 120 sheets of material in any one job.
The £3,550 desktop device is aimed at printers working in the short-run label, print and packaging market. It can handle sheets up to 330x483mm on a range of paper, adhesive materials and board weights up to 350gsm, at 30-40 seconds per sheet.
The machine has a footprint of 600x670mm including the new sheet-feeder and collection tray. Graphtec is soon to launch a wider version, the CE6000-60.
Graphtec GB sales director Neil Roberts said: “Short-run labelling is a problem for printers in that unless they have the right equipment it can be pretty expensive and time consuming to get them cut, but this system will produce custom shapes in seconds on pretty much any self-adhesive material you can print on.
"The addition of the automatic sheet feeder is really key. This is something people have been looking for for a while.”
He added: “People also want to be able to customise things and this is both affordable for any printer and allows them to make their products stand out.”
Wrexham-based Graphtec GB supplies products from its Japanese parent company and is currently lining up other resellers in the UK to put it products on the market.
