As part of the agreement, US-based Goss has acquired the intellectual property of DG Press' Thallo product line.
Thallo, which was launched last June and is making its Drupa debut this year in Hall 15, is a hybrid web offset printing system specifically designed for the efficient production of high quality, flexible packaging.
Goss said Thallo offers low cost plates, no solvents, fast makereadies and high quality printing on a diverse range of substrates.
Goss International director of business development for packaging David Muncaster said: “The Thallo really complements our Vpak press, there are some similarities between the two products but there are also some unique advantages between the two. By acquiring the product it gives us some opportunities to improve both product lines.
“DG Press will continue to manufacture the Thallo machines for us, which means we've got a manufacturing facility in Europe as well as the US. It's an advantage to have that facility as the exchange rate can affect how competitive we are. DG have also got very good contact with the flexible packaging market and strong knowledge and experience.”
DG Press will continue to service and sell the Thallo system in Europe while Goss will target customers in North and South America, Africa and Asia Pacific.
Goss International will present at Drupa under the theme 'Achieving more together', which the company said demonstrates its belief that bringing complementary brands and products together is the most logical way to support its existing and potential future customers.
