The uncoated fine paper range was previously sold by Paperlinx, and the change has been made by mutual agreement between the three parties.
GF Smith will stock the Munken Design Lynx, Pure and Polar ranges in both the smooth and tactile ‘rough’ surface finishes. It is available in a wide range of grammages up to 600gsm.
Arctic Paper UK managing director Rob Slowe said: “I would like to thank Paperlinx for their past achievements, and very much look forward to working with GF Smith to strengthen the Munken Design range within the design and commercial print market.”
The new arrangement comes into effect on 6 May.
Munken Design is suitable for printing via offset, flexo, laser and monochrome inkjet, and has a wide range of environmental and safety accreditations.
John Haslam, joint managing director at GF Smith, said: “Munken Design will form part of the fine, uncoated collection from GF Smith. We want to offer the best of coated and uncoated papers to the design and print market.”
GF Smith, founded in 1885, has recently revealed a corporate rebrand and revamp of its offering.
“We’re celebrating where we’ve come from and the onward spirit of the company, headed by the GF Smith brand,” Haslam explained.
It has grouped its paper ranges under ‘The Collection’, encompassing its renowned Colorplan brand alongside fine uncoated, fine coated, textured and specialist papers.
“We’re making it simple for people to choose what papers work best for different applications,” he added.
The merchant is also poised to go live with two new services: The Paper Smith supplying paper, cards and envelopes in small quantities to graphic designers and the craft market; and Make Book a new high-quality bespoke photobook service featuring Colorplan bindings and photo printed text pages on silver halide paper.
