Fespa debut for EFI's Flexy textile printer

EFI is targeting the burgeoning industrial textile printing market with the new Reggiani Renoir Flexy, making its worldwide debut at Fespa.

The 1.8m-wide Flexy is equipped with the manufacturer’s patented Dynaplast transfer system, a sort of sticky belt, which allows it to print onto a wide variety of substrates at more than 400sqm/hour.

Also new at Fespa is the entry-level Pro 16H LED hybrid printer, which has an embedded Fiery frontend. “It is ideal for sign shops with a couple of Mimakis, Rolands or HP printers who want to move up to one device and be able to handle rigid materials,” said Scott Schinlever, senior vice president and general manager EFI Inkjet.

EFI has also brought the high-speed 345sqm/hour Vutek 3r to the show. This includes inline slitting and cutting so finished products can be produced on-press. “This gives customers a lot of help and eliminates a second process.” Schinlever added.

In addition, Fespa is the first showing for version 5 of its Midmarket Print Suite productivity software. “It’s tailored to superwide, display and packaging applications,” said Ken Hanulec, EFI Inkjet vice president marketing.

EFI is on stand B7-E30/E35 at the show.
