The Eclipse Pro plate is targeted at commercial printers and is manufactured at ECO3’s facility in Germany.
ECO3 described it as a “drop in” product with an exceptionally wide latitude, which can easily replace conventional plates.
It is suitable for use with conventional as well as H-UV and LED-UV inks.
Iris Bogunovic, product manager for plate and CTP systems, commented: “The new ultra-convenient Eclipse Pro plate is another piece in our Total Solutions approach, which leverages a broad, integrated portfolio of plates, equipment, software and expertise to bring more value for printing companies.
“Eclipse Pro has been meticulously developed with the needs of commercial sheetfed printers at the forefront, guaranteeing a seamless integration between convenience, time efficiency and cost-effectiveness.”
Head of marketing and applications Guy Desmet said a number of major printing groups in Europe were already running the plate, which will be officially launched to the market at Drupa.
“At ECO3, our key objective is to provide the right plate for the exact needs of our customers, and we do that by offering best-in-class solutions for all types of offset printing workflows. We always cooperate closely with our customers to find the optimal plate, whether it is low-chem, chem-free, or process-free technology,” he said.
ECO3 also cited the new plate’s scratch resistance and “excellent and stable” image contrast that lasts for at least 24 hours, making inspection and actions such as plate punching and bending more efficient, along with ease-of-use for press operators.
The firm will be exhibiting in Hall 5, booth C31 at Drupa, which opens on 28 May and runs until 7 June.
