The Apollo UV Series includes the A3 sized GM3042, the A2 GM6042 and the A3 GM6042 Turbo which has double the number of print heads and UV cure power.
The unique selling point of the series is the fact the bed can be adjusted to print items up to 150mm thick, said Sean Lee, deputy general manager of the DYSS digital team.
“That’s a huge difference to our competitors’ machines,” said Lee, adding: “We’ve launched these machines because we’ve seen the gift and souvenir markets gradually move to smaller quantities."
Automatic sensors intelligently alter the height of the bed for unevenly shaped products. Operators can override this automation to achieve faster printing speeds.
The series also features DYSS’s Apollo Cure Pack system, which consumes less power and has a longer life than other systems to offer lower maintenance costs, said DYSS.
The printers offer resolutions up to 600x600dpi for variable dot printing and 600x1200dpi for single dot printing. The GM3042 has a top speed of 1.38sqm/hr, the GM6042 2sqm/hr and the Turbo prints at up to 3.35 sqm/hr.
The machines are designed to be highly compact and have a footprint of 134x94x86cm. The GM3042 and GM6042 feature three sets of printheads, the Turbo six.
The three machines are $20,000 (£12,000), $25,000 and $38,000. DYSS has attracted two new distributors of the series at Fespa, one in Eastern Europe and one in Northern Africa, and expects five more to soon sign up.
Also being showcased by DYSS at Fespa is its X Cutter Series of printer cutters.
