Software developer Dataline Solutions has debuted its latest MultiPress software package at Fespa's Global Print Expo.

MultiPress 6.0, called ‘Sirius’, follows on from Multipress 5.4, Polaris. Available from Q3 2024, the updated wide-format and signage printing software package includes a number of new and updated features.

In addition to Polaris’ customer relationship management (CRM), e-business, calculation, communication, planning, production, purchasing, logistics, invoicing and reporting, Sirius has a dedicated display wizard, grouped partial orders, and a brand-new app.

MultiPress’ Order Manager 2.0, however, provides the main difference for ordinary users. The revamped toolset allows order managers to follow jobs all the way to production, alongside checking and repairing files, driving the proofing process and assigning files. The Order Manager 2.0’s updated dashboard, Dataline said, has allowed for “significant simplification of complex processes”.

Also new to Sirius is MultiPress’ Display Wizard, designed specifically for the calculation, management and production of display and complex point-of-sale jobs.

The wizard will allow users to treat each part of a display as a separate order, while maintaining the connection between these separate parts throughout all steps of the administrative and production processes. Users can then keep an overview during material reservation, print production and finishing, and group elements for assembly and dispatch, even when using different materials and machinery.

Similarly, MultiPress 6.0 sees the introduction of ‘kits’, which allow users to bundle different parts of various orders into separate shipments, and to track these partial orders throughout the order management process, right up to delivery.

For orders that require different parts at different times – such as a display that uses window stickers, pop-up displays and posters – to different locations, kits will prove invaluable, according to Christoph Krohn, production director at Dataline.

He said: “In developing MultiPress, we constantly strive to ensure that the MIS/ERP of sign and large-format companies optimally meets their current needs.

“We are convinced that MultiPress 6.0 Sirius will assist these companies even more than before in streamlining and automating their business operations."

A new app was also released alongside the updated software. A reworked version of MultiPress’ 2019 installation app, it features improvements requested by users, and will fold the firm’s CRM app and installation app into a single app.

Kohn added: “With this updated app, we can now really speak of a fully-fledged MultiPress App that will help many MultiPress users to follow up their work even better. CRM and installation are the first and most important features, but we are already looking forward to subsequent app releases with which we will make MultiPress even more mobile."

MultiPress has also connected its software to a number of new partners, including Print.com, the Dutch web-to-print specialist, and workflow links with Agfa’s Asanti RIP, OneVision, Caldera PrimeCenter, Onyx and others.

Customers will be able to trial Dataline’s MultiPress 6.0 package at Hall 1, Booth C90 at Fespa, at the RAI in Amsterdam from 19-22 March.
