The manufacturer said its Pertinax counter sheet for carton manufacturing, Countamat, was developed for cleaner routing and long-run durability.
Supplied as 1,070x1,040mm sheets Countamat is billed as a new type of counter die material that can be easily milled and has better dimensional stability.
It consists of a two-layer fine woven glass cloth and its dense weave ensuring durability on press and clean channel cutting. It also helps extend the life of the tool, according to the company.
Countamat is available with or without C&T Channel’s peelable adhesive backing and users range from pharmaceutical, food and drink, tobacco and cosmetic packaging markets.
Managing director Simon Shenton said: “Countamat comes in a range of thicknesses and its superior stability and durability makes it ideal for long-run packaging work.
“The main benefit verses normal creasing matrix is Countamat is very, very durable and can last for half a million impressions against 100,000. It's for people doing long runs or repeat jobs.”
The cost of the material ranges from £15 to £30 per sheet depending on thickness, which range from 0.4mm to 1.2mm. It became commercially available on 1 April.
“We already have a number of customers using Countamat who have been delighted with the results, especially the quality and control of the crease.
“And we will be using Drupa to demonstrate Countamat’s credentials and how C&T’s extended portfolio is enabling customers to purchase everything required for cutting and creasing from one leading manufacturer and stockist.”
This January C&T Matrix debuted Countamax, billing the product as a new type of creasing matrix for carton manufacturing.
Shenton said the difference between Countamax and the latest product was that instead of being a flat sheet the diemaker had to cut out, the matrix was like a hybrid matrix including phenolic resin.
C&T Matrix sells and distributes its products to more than 80 countries worldwide. It offers several brands of creasing matrices including XTC, Pink, Kiss, Corrugate and Jazz.
Late last year the business appointed Howard Mead as its new technical sales manager for the UK and mainland Europe.
