Effective from last Monday (1 January), the Woodley, Berkshire-headquartered wide-format media and hardware supplier is now selling backlit textile Illuminati and Direct-Tex Softimage Contrast, a polyester textile with a total block out black reverse.
CMYUK commercial director Michael Crook said Direct-Tex Softimage Contrast is suitable for large exhibition wall wraps and event backdrops.
“It has a true black reverse with excellent opacity and a super bright-white print face. It also has stretch, which makes the installation of super-wide graphics that little bit easier. It is printable from both dye-sublimation and UV equipment, with excellent colour punch and image quality.”
The 230gsm textile is available in widths of 1.03m, 1.55m, 2.52m, 3.2m and 5.05m and in lengths of 50m and 100m.
The Illuminati, a 320gsm soft white textile for backlit graphics and tension frame systems, is available in widths of 1.03m, 1.55m, 2.52m and 3.2m and in 50m length. It is suitable for dye-sublimation, Latex and UV printing.
“The technology behind this new knitted textile eliminates pinholes when backlit and Illuminati’s soft-touch structure greatly reduces creasing and bruising, making it the perfect backlit textile for retail displays,” said Crook.
Pongs head of sales Roland Güthoff added: “Our aim is to develop more technical textiles. It is reassuring to have such a professional company as CMYUK to walk this path alongside us.”
Last year CMYUK added HP’s full range of Latex and flatbed printers and Esko’s hardware and software products to its portfolio.
