The firm’s ColorCloud software works on a pay-per-profile model whereby users purchase the device profiles they require for €200 (£162) each. Alternatively, large multi-site printers can buy an annual licence with unlimited profiles.
CMA chief executive Gerardo Cerros said: “We are bringing our knowledge from the high-end proofing market into wide-format printing. With ColorCloud we want to explain to the sign and digital world that there is no need for them to spend thousands of euros on colour management.”
Cerros said the software was easy-to-use, and customers typically made average ink and toner savings of 15%. He said it was particularly applicable in wide-format due to the vast range of substrates, ink and printer types in use.
“How many times does someone need to reprint one panel in a pop-up but ends up having to do the whole thing because the colour’s wrong?” added Mark Sanderson, vice president of global sales. “Global brands printing all around the world are very interested in this.”
At Fespa Digital CMA is demonstrating the capabilities of its colour matching system with a large graphic made up of a 'jigsaw' of six pieces printed on different media types and using different output devices. The firm is located at the Digital Hub in hall B1.
CMA Imaging is also celebrating a landmark deal with US printing supplies giant Xpedx, which is to distribute its proofing software and new Gracol 2013-certified proofing paper.
“This is huge. It puts CMA into a completely different space, globally,” said Sanderson.
CMA said it was the only company in the world to currently have Gracol 2013 compliant paper. Its first certification under the new standard is for its software and papers and Epson printers. “We intend to certify Canon and Roland devices too,” added Cerros.
The Luxembourg-headquartered firm specialises in colour management software and media coating design.
