The Novafoil 106 Hologram was developed from 2021’s Novafoil 106, Bobst’s first inline hot film stamper with cross-foiling option.
To create the Hologram edition, Bobst mounted individual hologram modules – each with reel width of 100mm – on the Novafoil 106, with up to two rails of five modules each.
Able to convert jobs which previously required two runs in a single pass, the 106 H is also equipped with a register for each reel, and film advance is electronically controlled with rollers to control film tension.
The hologram reels can be introduced to the conversion process within seconds, Bobst said.
To go alongside the 106 H, Bobst has also introduced its Digital Makeready Tool (DMT) to market.
The DMT allows printers to project the PDF of an embellishment job directly onto the honeycomb chase, with the projection showing printers exactly where the dies for the job need to be placed.
The new Novafoil and DMT join Bobst's raft of launches which it announced at the beginning of summer.
