With these technologies, the company said it is aiming to offer printers and manufacturers “compact, efficient solutions” that deliver new levels of speed and power.
“We are incredibly excited to share brand new solutions for the printing industry at Drupa,” said Jonathan Fore, product management director at Baldwin.
“These new technologies fill critical gaps in the market, and we look forward to demonstrating how we can empower businesses to propel their print quality and productivity.”
While full details on the new LED-UV curing platform are being kept under wraps for now, it is said to offer more powerful curing, lower energy costs, more full-speed jobs, less space required, less downtime, and more custom configuration.
Baldwin said visitors to its booth would see “how the best features of Baldwin’s wide array of existing LED-UV products were unified into one LED system with industry-leading UV power, compact size, and application flexibility”.
The business said visitors would also be able to see Baldwin’s result of combining the latest generation of lights and cameras, modern UX design, and extensive inspection know-how into a simple package that, when paired with the Defender 100% Inspection System “will be the most modern of its kind on the market”.
Baldwin will be exhibiting on the BW Converting stand (Hall 16, booths D20 and C21) alongside sister companies W+D and PCMC.
W+D will demonstrate the BB820+ mail and ballot inserting system and the new wider print head, i-Jet 3, which it has claimed is the industry’s fastest high-quality envelope and direct mail inkjet overprint press.
It will also hold a factory event during Drupa, at the nearby W+D Neuwied factory on 3 and 4 June, where it will demonstrate a raft of other machines, including the world premiere of the W+D 628KC combi envelope and direct mail converter.
Meanwhile, PCMC will show the ION hybrid digital flexo and inkjet press, which runs at up to 400 feet (37.2 metres) per minute, translating to an output capacity of up to 1,733 square feet per minute. Also on display will be the Meridian, PCMC’s patented laser technology, which it said minimises time, ink, and waste in the anilox cleaning process.
