Joining a portfolio which includes UV, direct-to-substrate and direct-to-garment flatbed printers from Azon, the clutch of machines from Mutoh bring roll-to-roll technology to Harlow-based Atlantic’s sales and support offering for the first time.
A deal was agreed in the first week of June and Atlantic has spent the past weeks reworking its website and notifying existing customers. Highlights of the new raft of additions include the ValueJet VJ-1624X eco-solvent roll system and the ValueJet VJ-626UF flatbed.
“We are a company that supports and supplies nationally, particularly in East Anglia and the South East, so we are well-located to help develop the Mutoh brand,” said Atlantic managing director Keith Pratt.
“They are possibly not as well-known as Mimaki and Roland in this particular field and we want to help raise their profile because they make good machines that should be competing head-to-head.
“Our main activities cover support through our extended warranty for more than 300 machines in the UK, but we have not been able to give our customers an upgrade path as their Azon devices get older. Mutoh’s printers are competitively-priced, well-built and well-established so the tech is a great route for our customers.”
Pratt highlighted Mutoh’s flagship Interweave technology as a key selling point for customers in the UV market, as it is designed to facilitate faster print speeds at high, banding-free quality.
Mutoh and Azon UV machines now make up the bulk of Atlantic’s product offering, though it also offers the Ricoh Ri 100, Ri 3000 and Ri 6000 direct-to-textile systems, as well as a wide gamut of inks, consumables and finishing machines.
With a recruitment drive for new salespeople next on the cards, Atlantic currently employs 14 members of staff covering supply and support services to all sizes of print companies and franchises.
