The paper merchant told Printweek recycled paper is “a constant talking point and ever more important in today’s environmentally focused market”, and that Cyclus Offset was an addition to its existing range.

Cyclus was previously produced by Arjowiggins’ Bessé-sur-Braye mill in France, which closed in 2019. Antalis said the grade is now being produced by a “European manufacturer” but did not disclose further details.

Cyclus Offset is produced with zero waste to landfill, is FSC-certified, and is carbon balanced via the World Land Trust.

Antalis said it is made from post-consumer waste, which reduces water consumption and uses considerably less energy compared to virgin fibre paper during production.

The grade is said to retain the bright colour quality and intensity of photographs, with its high opacity ensuring minimum show through. Antalis said this makes it perfect for offset printing, although it is also compatible with dry toner technologies.

Boasting “a satin touch and feel”, Antalis said Cyclus Offset enhances creative projects and brand identity, “allowing customers to demonstrate their environmental commitments without compromising on the visual quality of their printed work”.

The grade is produced with bioenergy and local sourcing, is chlorine and OBA free, and is available in a wide range of sizes from 100-300gsm. It is suitable for applications including reports and accounts, CSR and sustainability literature, catalogues, magazines, and posters.

“Cyclus Offset is a truly versatile grade which maintains consideration for the environment and has achieved the highest 5 Star rating from our own Antalis Green Star System.”

Pricing was not disclosed but Antalis said the range “is competitively priced within the recycled paper market”.

A self-adhesive range of sheets from UPM Raflatac that is the world’s first label material to be verified by the Carbon Trust has also just been launched exclusively in the UK by Antalis.
