What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year?
Some time to relax and spend with my family. It has been a great year for me and now I am looking forward to having some downtime with those closest to me.
What do you think will represent the single biggest opportunity for printers in 2015 and why?
I think that 3D printing is looking very exciting and I look forward to watching the progress.
What do you think will represent the single biggest threat for printers in 2015 and why?
The way technology is becoming so advanced and accessible to the end-user. It is important that the print industry embraces these advancements and constantly looks at ways of incorporating the technology within their designs. This could include the use of scanning or picture recognition to enhance a printed POS display, for example.
What’s the one thing that the industry should do more of, or do better, in 2015?
Everyone should be looking at ways to further reduce their carbon footprint. Every company regardless of size can make changes; anything from the use of more sustainable materials to supporting staff to car share. Everything helps.
What was your biggest disappointment in 2014?
Mine personally was not getting to Ipex. Work commitments got in the way but we have already booked our tickets to the RemaDays Warsaw in February, which I am looking forward to.
What was your highlight of 2014?
Opening my print finishing company Forward Finishing in August. We are going from strength to strength and more and more companies are coming on board so 2015 is looking to be a good year for us.
What are your hopes for 2015?
That Forward Finishing continues to prosper and we can look to increase our workforce early in 2015 to support our continued growth.
What was the most important thing that you learnt in 2014?
That if you believe in something then give it a go.
What if anything will you do differently in 2015?
Getting a more even work/life balance as my children will only be children for a little while longer. When you love your work it is easy to get lost in the days and then you realise the kids are in bed, so I intend to be home for bedtimes at least four times a week.
What’s your favourite Christmas cracker joke?
Q: What do you call a sheep with no legs?
A: A cloud!
Who will win the Rugby World Cup in 2015?
England, of course!
