Trinity Mirror, which prints the Huddersfield Weekly News at its Oldham plant in Greater Manchester, produced 50,000 copies of the paper with the peel-off voucher for fast-food chain Subway stuck on its cover.
WRH Marketing installed an Accraply application system on a Ferag post-press processing line at the Oldham plant, in order to attach the MemoStick label.
The Accraply labelling unit can be integrated into a gripper conveyor and copy stream. It can also be used to apply labels to pre-prints and supplements.
Ian Lisle, post press operations manager at Oldham, said: "MemoStick provides the advertiser with a unique selection of publicity options.
"For example, the label could take the form of a redeemable voucher that could be used in a variety of ways, from a discount on purchases at a local shop to free entry to an event.
"Around 50% of the titles we print at Oldham are for contract customers and we believe that MemoStick will appeal as an excellent added value offering to a large number."
