York & Ford has opened a new warehouse and distribution centre in Peckleton, Leicestershire.
Founding director Andy York said the 1,500m2 purpose-built facility was part of an on-going expansion programme over the past year. "Our branches have grown from six to 10 and our workforce has almost doubled to nearly 200 staff," said York.
In 1999 York & Ford became the UKs only associate partner of the IGEPA Group, a 900m-turnover partnership of six of Europes largest paper firms.
The Peckleton branch will employ 30 sales, logistics, warehouse and delivery staff, and will hold over 1,000 tonnes of paper from suppliers like Sappi Nash and Neusiedler.
"As we have grown, so the quality of our supply line has improved, which is something we dreamt about when we started," said York.
He said the firm aimed to offer a total localised package, providing same-day delivery but with the backing of a national group.
