The Portsmouth-based wide-format digital company is set to take delivery of an Expedio Inspiration and an Expedio Revolution next month.
The Revolution is a 5m UV printer that can print at 300sqm an hour, while the eight-colour 3.2m Inspiration offers a 800x635dpi and speeds of up to 110sqm.
XL Print managing director Avi Hochshteadt told printweek.com that the new kit merged "the quality of digital and the velocity of screen".
He added: "It's a huge market with the JCDecauxs and the Clear Channels producing many, many thousands of square metres of print a month. We want a bite of this."
Hochshteadt outlined how the new UV printers would provide significant cost-benefits and expected 440gsm front lit-banner material to retail for "as little as £3 per square metre, which is 10% of what printers were commanding a decade ago".
The 12-staff firm is also in negotiations to move to a larger premises, which will give it scope to add new printing and finishing kit.
