Xerox UK has won a 2.25m contract from PIMS to supply seven DocuTech 6180 digital printers to the marketing and communications services company.
The deal makes PIMS one of Xeroxs largest customers in Europe, and takes its number of DocuTech 6180s to 12.
"The choice of Xerox allows us to provide the flexible, high-quality and reliable services to meet the needs of our public relations, marketing and publishing customers," said PIMS print division business development director Sarah Moss.
In a separate initiative PIMS has joined the Xerox Premier Partner Programme, its worldwide e-community specifically for graphic arts firms.
The service, launched in September this year, allows members to link up with other Premier Partners to complete jobs that would otherwise be outsourced.
Xeroxs board has elected president and chief executive Anne Mulcahy to the additional post of chairman with effect from 1 January 2002.
She succeeds Paul Allaire, who has been chairman since 1991 and will retire at the end of this year.
